Next Tuesday, September 10, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino will begin an official visit to the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Austria, where she will develop an extensive work agenda including her participation in the Public Forum of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, and at the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), based in Vienna.
Furthermore, she will hold meetings with the highest authorities of other international organizations, local authorities, leading companies and investment groups from both countries.
On her first stop in Geneva, Mondino will be received by the Director General of the WTO, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala; she will be speaker at a panel on agricultural trade and chair a special panel entitled “Renewable energies: the Argentine case.” She will also have a meeting with the Director-General of the International Labor Organization (ILO), Gilbert Houngbo.
The Minister's agenda also includes meetings with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi. She will also meet with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, and with the Deputy Director General (Patents and Technology) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Lisa Jorgenson.
In the city of Bern, Foreign Minister Mondino will meet with local businessmen and authorities from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and with her counterpart, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, and also by the head of the Federal Department of Economy, Training and Research, Guy Parmelin.
Once in Vienna, Austria, Minister Mondino will participate in two panels of the IAEA General Conference, and will be received by its Director General, Argentine diplomat Rafael Grossi. She is also expected to visit Argentina's stand sponsored by INVAP.
She will then have working meetings with her counterpart, the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, with the Federal Minister of Labor and Economy, Martin Kocher, as well as with the Director for North and Latin America Americas of the Austrian Federal Chamber of Commerce, Marco García, and important Austrian investment groups.
After this visit, the Foreign Minister will participate in the United Nations General Assembly High Level Week in New York City, where the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, is scheduled to make his first statement before the General Assembly on Tuesday, September 24.
