Gabriela Elena presents the show Para las seis cuerdas, based on Jorge Luis Borges’ book of milongas.
In this work, Borges unfolds a universe of folkloric identities: the suburban Buenos Aires, its music, and its knife-wielding heroes. The show features all the milongas from the book, set to music by prominent figures such as Astor Piazzolla, Aníbal Troilo, Carlos Guastavino, Sebastián Piana, Eladia Blázquez, José Basso, and Julián Plaza, among other composers.
It premiered in 1999 to commemorate the centenary of the writer’s birth. Later, it was declared of Cultural Interest by the Argentine Consulate in Barcelona at the event Borges al Patti Limona.
