Foreign Minister Malcorra today received the Executive Secretary of ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), Alicia Bárcena, with whom she reviewed Argentina's common agenda with the organization for the short term.
"ECLAC is an institution very close to the heart of the Argentine people, which has shaped the Latin American model and thinking in economic and social analysis matters", said Malcorra during a joint press conference.
She added: "We have a common work agenda with ECLAC on many issues that our Government is currently addressing, which range from sustainable development goals to economic integration and an evaluation of our position on the major issues of financing and social development."
AGENDA
As from next Monday, Foreign Minister Malcorra will be on an official visit to the Russian Federation, where she will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov. She will also have meetings with authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union, Russian business sector representatives, the Vice Chairman of the State Duma, and the Russian Solidarity with the Malvinas Islands Group. Finally, she will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Red Square.
From there, she will travel to the Belgian capital, Brussels, where she will meet with EU commissioners to advance projects with the bloc launched with her counterpart Federica Mogherini and to start working on President Mauricio Macri's visit to Europe.
After that, she will travel to New York for the Special Session of the UN General Assembly on drugs, with a delegation made up of Argentine Federal Government officials and legislators.
She will also participate in UN High-Level Events on Climate Change, preparatory to the signature of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, in which the Argentine President will take part.
