Argentine Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra had several work meetings in Moscow today, where she arrived last night on an official visit.
Malcorra was received by the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Tigran Sarkisian, who was accompanied by a distinguished delegation. At the headquarters, they addressed issues of common interest to the respective regional blocs, EEU and MERCOSUR.
After that, the Argentine Foreign Minister met with the Vice Chairman of Russia's Federal Assembly State Duma, Alexander Zhukov, and with representatives of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Argentina of the Duma. She then had a meeting with the authorities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and leading business sector representatives of the Russian Federation, during which she presented the existing trade and investment opportunities in the Argentine Republic.
Finally, she met with the Coordinators of the Groups of Solidarity with the Question of the Malvinas Islands —the Russian Coordinator, Vladimir Davydov, and the Belarusian Coordinator, Juan Carlos Popok—, whom she thanked for their permanent support, as well as for their work and efforts.
On Wednesday 13, Ms Malcorra will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier close to Moscow's Red Square. She will then hold a meeting with her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, at 11 AM (Moscow time), which will include a working lunch and a joint message to the media. The two Ministers will address items on the bilateral agenda and will exchange views on the current world scenario, as well as on the joint efforts to be undertaken within the cooperation framework of the United Nations and the G20.
Malcorra travelled with the Governor of the Province of Neuquén, Omar Gutiérrez, officers of the Departments of Public Works, of Energy, and of the Argentine Investment Promotion Agency, and a business delegation.
