The Government and people of Argentina offer their heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Republic of Chile on the passing of former president Patricio Aylwin Azócar.
A lawyer, university professor and member of the Christian Democratic party, Patricio Aylwin played an exceptional role in the history of his country, building the consensus that led to the restoration of democracy and to his election as President of the Republic of Chile in 1990.
The Argentine Republic will especially remember the initiatives he promoted to build trust during his administration, as well as his permanent and sincere gestures to bring us closer, which ushered in an unprecedented integration and cooperation process between our countries.
