Argentina condemns the murder of journalist Valdez Cárdenas

The Argentine Government joins the international community in its condemnation of the murder of Mexican journalist Javier Valdez Cárdenas, who reported on the criminal activities of the Sinaloa Cartel, committed in Culiacán, Mexico, as well as the murders of other members of the press killed during this year for their brave actions to expose those responsible for crimes related to drug trafficking.

The Argentine Government reiterates that the fight against drug trafficking and its terrible consequences is a top priority, and underscores the importance of joint and cooperative actions by the international community as a whole to end this scourge. Furthermore, Argentina conveys to the Government of Mexico its solidarity and full support for the efforts undertaken to fight these criminal activities.
