Today Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie participated in the opening of the Plenary Session of the 11th WTO Ministerial Conference, where he underscored "the importance of a rules-based, open and equitable international trading system that contributes inter alia to consolidating the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
In the presence of WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo, the Chair of the MC11, Susana Malcorra, and all the participating delegations, Faurie stated that "the agricultural trade reform process is an essential requirement for eliminating hunger and eradicating poverty."
