The Argentine Republic presents the candidature of Rafael Mariano Grossi, who currently serves as Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
As founding member of the United Nations, Argentina strongly promotes cooperation among nations and believes that, in a complex global landscape marked by multidimensional conflicts, it is imperative to once again place the purposes and principles enshrined in the UN Charter at the core of the organization’s day-to-day work.
Argentina considers that Rafael Mariano Grossi has the leadership qualities, expertise and capabilities required to carry out this crucial task in the current context.
