Selvanegra galeria

Selvanegra is a gallery specializing in contemporary art that was founded in 2017 by Silvina and Josefina Sicoli. It promotes the positioning and dissemination of the work of young and mid-career Argentine artists. Located in downtown City of Buenos Aires, an emblematic area in the history of local art, Selvanegra features a space with street-facing windows that, while not a white cube, provides special conditions for each exhibition (projecting from the intimate interior space to the street audience). The project was born and branches out with a profile related to feminisms and affection as a political instrument. It also promotes connections with publishing houses, publications, institutions, and fairs aimed to develop artists’ work and its recognition and visibility in the art scene. Five exhibitions and a summer residency, where the gallery functions as a workshop and opens to the public at the end of the residency, are held on an annual basis.
