Within the context of the long dialogue and cooperation process initiated in 2016 by the Argentine Foreign Ministry with the Government of the United States, president Donald Trump has announced the delivery to Argentina of documents from the last military dictatorship gathered by 12 intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
The Government of the United States stated that this will be the largest delivery of declassified documents to another State in terms of volume and quality.
Argentina has high expectations for these documents, which will represent a valuable contribution to the process of Memory, Truth and Justice.
On 24 March, 2016, Human Rights Organizations from Argentina requested the then President of the United States, Barack Obama, to declassify documents related to the military dictatorship.
Argentina appreciates and is grateful for the efforts of the White House National Security Council, which conducted this declassification project.
