The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic informs that the diplomatic staff and military and administrative attachés serving at the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela will be leaving the country together with their families. Their departure was ordered by President Nicolás Maduro as a consequence of Argentina’s decision not to recognize and reject the fraudulent result of the presidential election held last 28 July.
The past days and months have been very challenging for the staff of the Embassy, who have given undeniable proof of their professionalism, their humane values and their sense of duty, in protecting both the interests of Argentina and the lives and freedom of the six political refugees who were granted asylum for over four months at the Embassy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship coveys its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the diplomatic, military and administrative staff of the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela and vows for their prompt return to service in a free and democratic Venezuela.
