A “parkour” map of Argentina in Fortnite, specially designed with tourist landscapes of our country, was launched today at the San Martín Palace. This initiative seeks to connect with new digital audiences in an innovative way to promote tourism in our country.

As a result of coordinated work, the project aims to highlight, through a gamified environment, the most iconic places in Argentina such as the Perito Moreno Glacier, Mendoza province, the Valley of the Moon, the Cerro de los 7 Colores, La Cañada, the Iguazú Falls and, in the city of Buenos Aires, Caminito, the Obelisk and Puerto Madero neighborhoods.

Argentina thus becomes the first country in the world to use the Fortnite platform for tourism promotion in order to bring some of its most characteristic attractions closer to new generations through the almost 25 million daily players of the video game and more than 400 million registered users globally. This tool will also allow for the promotion of new gamified experiences in the different tourist circuits.

The event was attended by the Secretary for International Economic Relations of Argentina’s Foreign Ministry, Marcelo Cima, with opening remarks delivered by the Undersecretary of Promotion of Exports, Investments, Education, Science and Culture, Ramiro Velloso, and the participation of provincial authorities Carlos Sadir, Governor of Jujuy; Luz Herrera, Director of Promotion and Events of the Ministry of Tourism of Misiones; and Darío Capitani, President of the Córdoba Tourism Agency.

The second panel included as speakers Jon Fatelevich, President of StadioPlus and responsible for developing the gamified experience; Carolina Bustos, Director of Promotion of Knowledge-Based Services, Creative Industries, Tourism and Sports of the Foreign Ministry; Andrés Deya, President of the Argentine Federation of Associations of Travel and Tourism Companies (FAEVYT); Eric Manrique, Head of Business Development at the Argentine Electronic Sports and Videogames Association (DEVA), was the moderator, while Agustín Jamele, a journalist from FORBES Argentina, was in charge of the event. Olympic medalist, captain of the Argentine National Basketball Team and creator of startups linked to sports and technology, Luis Scola, stood out among the attendees.

The meeting was an opportunity to learn about the application of new technologies in tourism promotion and explore non-traditional tools innovatively aimed at a broad and global audience.

Since the official launch, Fortnite players can now access the map of the Argentine Republic from all platforms (PSP, Xbox, PC and cell phone). The game can be found in search engines under the name Argentina Parkour Minigames or by the code 2667-5881-4517.
