Wine tasting at the Argentine embassy in Berlin attended by wine importers and exporters representing over 40 Argentine wineries and 130 brands.
With a view to promoting and creating business opportunities with key players of the German wine sector, a new professional wine tasting was held yesterday for the first time in almost ten years, organized by the Argentine Embassy in Berlin.
The event, held at the Exhibitions Hall of the Embassy, was attended by 17 importers and distributors in Germany which represent more than 40 Argentine wineries and approximately 130 leading brands, including Malbec, Torrontés and Cabernet Sauvignon grapevines. Among the main Argentine wineries attending the event were Trapiche, Luigi Bosca, Finca La Linda, Don Cristobal, Bodega Los Toneles, Bodegas Krontiras, Salentein, Domingo Hermanos y Budeger. Huentala Wines, Finca Las Moras y Amanecer Andino wineries were also present.
During the event, importers presented the quality and potential of Argentine fine wines to over 200 attendees, including renowned sommeliers and purchasing managers from large chains, brasseries and restaurants (Blockhouse, Mövenpick, Zollpackhof, Paris Berlin), hotels (Hilton, Maritim, Mercure), golf and polo clubs, and large stores such as the emblematic KaDeWe.
Ambassador Edgardo Malaroda spoke with importers and stressed the importance of increasing Argentine presence in the German market.
In 2017, Argentina -the largest wine producer in Latin America- exported USD 13,676,000 of fine wine bottles, making Germany one of its first ten wine destinations around the world.
The promotion of Argentine wine in various German Federated States is of great importance and, given the great potential of increasing exports to the thriving German economy, similar wine tastings are planned to be held in the cities of Frankfurt, Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
