In the context of the debates on international security before the challenges posed by political and economic fragmentation, Mondino's agenda focused on presenting Argentina’s commitment to market economy and the strengthening of the rule of law.

Between 16 and 18 February, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino participated in the Munich International Security Conference.

The Conference, held since 1963, constitutes one of the main global forums to debate issues related to the international security agenda and a platform to share visions of the present and future of the international scenario.

The meeting brought together heads of State and Government, ministers of foreign affairs and international personalities, as well as representatives of industry, media, academia and civil society.

Foreign Minister Mondino availed of the occasion to present Argentina’s commitment to open market economy, the promotion of investments, the strengthening of the rule of law, the promotion of free competition of economic actors and full insertion into the global economy.

Mondino closes her mission in Munich with a positive balance. The Conference provided the opportunity to amplify that message with her counterparts and representatives of Germany, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Spain, the United States, India, Romania, and Togo. She held a total of 22 bilateral meetings that included international political decision-makers and global CEOs of large companies such as Bayer, BMW, Siemens, Fortescue and PIMCO.

During the conference, the Foreign Minister made presentations in two panels entitled 'Currency for Change: World Politics on a Budget' and 'A Critical Matter: Strengthening Strategic Mineral Supply Chains' along with by the Minister of Finance of Germany, the Greek Prime Minister, the CEO of Fortescue, the Executive Director of the PIMCO Investment Fund and German federal parliamentarians, among others.

Today, before her return to Argentina, on her last day the Minister had a bilateral meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Manuel Albares Bueno; a conversation with her counterpart of Palestine; and a working meeting with Bill Anderson, Chairman of the Board of Management (CEO) of Bayer.

Both in her meetings with representatives of the private sector as well as with her counterparts, Mondino focused on issues such as the legal protection for investors and the objective of guaranteeing a favorable climate for private initiative, with transparent and predictable rules for companies that decide to invest in Argentina.

The interest shown in the conversations that Mondino had with her counterparts and businessmen from around the world evidenced that the door is wide open for Argentina to participate again, at the highest level, on the international stage, as well as the renewed interest in having our country -third economy in Latin America- as one of its most reliable pillars.
