Foreign Minister Mondino met with the Orthodox Archbishop of Buenos Aires and Primate and Exarch of South America of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, His Eminence Iosif of Buenos Aires.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the ties between the Argentine Government and the orthodox community, as well as to promote cooperation on areas of mutual interest. Various topics were discussed at the meeting, such as the integration of, and support for, religious communities in Argentina, as well as the possibility of developing joint initiatives in the fields of education, culture and social assistance.
Both parties highlighted their commitment to peace, justice and the promotion of human rights and reaffirmed the importance of dialogue between the different religious traditions to build a harmonious and more inclusive society.
The parties concluded the meeting by making constructive exchanges and reaffirming their willingness to collaborate on initiatives to strengthen the bilateral ties and promote common values.
