Today, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino received a delegation of the Canadian company CANDU Energy Inc. specialized in the design and supply of nuclear reactors, as well as products and services for nuclear reactors. The delegation was headed by the company’s CEO, Gary Rose, and the Canadian Ambassador to our country, Reid Douglas Sirss, was also present.
During the meeting, also attended by the Secretary for International Economic Relations, Marcelo Cima, potential opportunities for collaboration with the Argentine nuclear sector were discussed, including services and components related to CANDU technology.
Foreign Minister Mondino highlighted Argentina's experience in nuclear matters and emphasized its technological development, further offering the support and assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Argentina and Canada have a historic relationship of cooperation on nuclear matters, starting with the acquisition and extension of the lifetime of the Embalse Nuclear Power Plant in Córdoba, built with Canadian CANDU technology.
