Wednesday, 24 March 2021
Information for the Press N°:
091/21

On March 23, as a result of the joint work conducted by the Undersecretariat for Ports, Waterways, and Merchant Navy of the Ministry of Transport of the Argentine Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship and the Argentine Naval Hydrographic Service a buoy was moored at kilometre 200.800, the starting point of the Magdalena Channel, thereby establishing a sign of safe waters or mooring for vessels with draughts compatible with the natural depth. Therefore, the Naval Hydrographic Service will proceed to give notice to sailing crews.

In addition, the Argentine delegation for the Río de la Plata Administrative Commission reported the buoy placement to the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, pursuant to the agreement made within the scope of that Commission.
