Joint Statement on the Election in Venezuela

The Foreign Ministers of Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay are closely following events in Venezuela and consider it essential for there to be guarantees that the electoral results fully represent the popular will expressed by the Venezuelan people at the polls. This can only be achieved by means of a transparent vote count that allows verification and control by observers and delegates for all candidates.
