Argentina’s Foreign Ministry and the Association of Argentine Interior Designers (DArA) officially opened the IX International Meeting of Interior Design and Design “Dara ID 2024” at the San Martin Palace today. The event, which will continue on Tuesday, October 22 at the Palacio Libertad, brings together great international talents in the field of design and interior design. Under the motto “Journey to Design”, it offers a meeting place for the exchange of creative visions, experiences and business.
Foreign Minister Diana Mondino, Argentina Country Branding Ambassador Bettina Bulgheroni and DARA President Laura Ocampo highlighted the growth of the world design market and the business opportunities for Argentine talents.
The Foreign Minister stated that Argentine interior design offers the sensorial experience of the identity and culture of our country and has a huge potential to compete abroad. For her part, Bettina Bulgheroni stressed the importance of preserving the values of craftsmanship in design.
Among the speakers invited to Dara ID 2024 were Belgian architect Bernard Dubois; French designer Anthony Guerreé; Lebanese designer and architect Carlo Massoud; French multidisciplinary artist and industrial designer Alexandre Benjamin Navet; and French design curator Michael Cheneau.
The President of DARA, Laura Ocampo, expressed her gratitude for the support of the Foreign Ministry and the national government and stressed that the Association she represents focuses on the work of designers, because they have an innovative and bohemian vision, based on the recovery of materials, craftsmanship and object-art, elements that they incorporate in their design projects.
The Foreign Ministry is committed to promoting Argentine design and interior design in the world decoration market. During 2024, initiatives have been carried out, such as support for the participation of emerging Argentine designers in the Milan Design Week, the presence of iconic pieces of Argentine design in the exhibition on Latin American design at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and exhibitions between architecture and design specialists at the Argentine Consulate in New York.
