"Building International Integration"

The Argentine Foreign Ministry, through the Secretariat for International Economic Relations, has published the 2018 Inventory of Barriers to Argentine Exports, available at http://www.cei.gov.ar/gestionando-la-inserción-internacional.

This systematized survey reflects tariff and non-tariff barriers which Argentine products may face for access to foreign markets.

The second edition has drawn not only on the work of Argentine representations abroad, but also on input from the private sector, which has helped to improve our knowledge on the subject.

Preliminary results of the survey, which includes 463 measures identified in 65 countries, show that 48% of Argentine exports and 45% of Argentine exporting companies are affected by some of the measures included in the survey.

In a world of intensifying trade tensions in different regions, working towards better international economic integration requires the development of ever more sophisticated strategies. Therefore, the survey becomes particularly important, not only as a tool to evaluate opportunities for effective market access but also to examine trade strategies at a global level.

Given the dynamic nature of the document, we expect to continue relying on the priceless contribution made by Argentine companies, reporting trade barriers detected in their goods export transactions. To this end, companies may use the online form available at http://exportaciones.mrecic.gob.ar/sitios/barreras.
