The Argentine Foreign Ministry is coordinating Argentina’s presence at Gulfood 2024, one of the world’s leading international food and beverages exhibitions, to be held from 19 to 23 February at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Ninety-two Argentine companies will be present in the Argentine pavilions in three different sectors: Grains, Beverages and World Food. This totals 890 m2 of exhibition space, resulting in a prominent Argentine presence in this global event, which has become a reference for the global food market.

According to data from the International Trade Centre (ITC), the Middle East imports 7.3% of the world’s imports of processed food and agri-food products, reaching USD 84,156 million.

Furthermore, according to the Argentine Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), Argentina is the 16th largest global exporter of food and beverages to the Middle East. The main importers in the region are Türkiye (USD 449.5 million), Egypt (USD 360 million) and Saudi Arabia (USD 312 million).

Several global industry experts attend Gulfood, which represents an opportunity for Argentine companies intending to position their products in the Middle East and Africa market. Gulfood 2023 featured more than five thousand companies from 150 countries and was attended by more than 11 thousand visitors.

Alejandra Porrini, International Trade Manager of Inalpa, stated that “participating in Gulfood is a dream come true, since it is one of the fairs with the most visitors and exhibitors in the world. Having the opportunity to be part of such an important event fills us with pride and expectations, since international fairs are a window to the world.”

She further stated that “exploring a market completely different from the ones we are used to working in, with its own culture, habits and customs, demands us an even higher ambition of us in the production of food that forms part of a high-quality exportable supply that appeals to the consumers in the region.”

Inalpa is a company from the Province of Santa Fe engaged in the production and canning of vegetables and fresh legumes. It has been four years since it reactivated its exports, and now its products are exported to Panama, Uruguay and Cuba.

María Victoria Ricca, Export Manager of Moolec ValoraSoy Food Ingredients, stated that “Gulfood 2024 represents a great opportunity for global reach that allows us to interact with strategic contacts and with relevant leading companies in the food industry. We will be present, showing a greater innovation in ingredients and promoting food science.”

Moolec ValoraSoy Food Ingredients produces and markets textured vegetable proteins. It provides products and customized solutions to customers in more than 14 countries across three continents.
