Foreign Minister Mondino held a working meeting with David Dickson, Managing Director and CEO of Australian company Lake Resources, and Amalia Sáenz, Country Manager and Senior VP of Argentina Corporate Affairs.
Lake Resources is an Australian mining company and lithium developer which is currently working on Kachi project in Catamarca, as well as on three other lithium projects in Jujuy that are still at an early exploration stage.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Mondino expressed the Argentine Government’s interest in continuing to promote investment attraction with a view to boosting the Argentine economy, and reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry’s willingness to contribute to achieving that goal.
For his part, the CEO of Lake Resources highlighted the technology used by the company to offer low-carbon, sustainable solutions to meet the growing demand for high-quality lithium.
He also referred to the company’s flagship Kachi project in Catamarca, the purpose of which, he said, is to produce 25,500 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually. Kachi expects to begin selling lithium in 2027, with a ramp-up to full capacity by the end of 2028.
