Today, the "2018 Investment Forum" was held at the Argentine Foreign Ministry, with the participation of more than 500 people and eight thematic panels. The event brought together top-tier speakers related to private and angel or seed investments, as well as several successful funds and entrepreneurs from Argentina and the region.
The Minister of Production and Labour, Dante Sica; the Secretary for International Economic Relations, Horacio Reyser; the Argentine Ambassador to the United States, Fernando Oris de Roa; and the Secretary for Entrepreneurs and SMEs, Mariano Mayer, among others, were also present.
The goal of the meeting was to bring together key players of the Argentine and foreign private capital industry to discuss investment opportunities, macroeconomic trends and the development of the industry at the local, regional and global levels.
The main topic of the meeting was the development of private and venture capital as drivers of growth for Argentina. The role of Argentina in the region and its most innovative sectors (Foodtech, Agrotech, Fintech and Edtech, among others) were also addressed.
During the meeting, Secretary Reyser ratified the direction of substantive reforms carried out by Argentina and stressed the fundamental role of the current collaborative dialogue between the public and private sectors in creating opportunities for growth and quality jobs.
The event was jointly organized by the Argentine Association of Private Equity, Venture and Seed Capital (ARCAP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and the Secretariat for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Ministry of Production, with the support of Invest BA (Government of the City of Buenos Aires) and the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency.
