Argentina vigorously condemns the brutal terrorist attack perpetrated today in Sri Lanka, which has so far left more than 200 dead and hundreds injured. The violent terrorist acts against the Christian community gathered to celebrate Easter cause deep pain and sorrow.
The Argentine Government stands with the people and Government of Sri Lanka, and conveys its condolences to the families of the victims, hoping for a speedy recovery of those injured.
Argentina calls for respect for places of worship, religious tolerance and freedom and once again strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms. It reiterates its willingness to fight against this scourge and to guarantee peace within the framework of international law and respect for human rights.
