Argentina-Israel business meeting

Within the framework of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Argentina, the Argentine Foreign Ministry organized a Working Meeting with the business delegation travelling with the Prime Minister. The meeting was held today at the Palacio San Martín.

The purpose of the event was to present to the delegation the existing business and investment landscape in the country and the available opportunities, as well as to create a space to evaluate potential joint cooperation actions in strategic sectors.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Foreign Ministry, Horacio Reyser; the Secretary for Digital Nation of the Ministry of Modernization, Raúl Martínez; the President of the Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency, Juan Pablo Trípodi; the National Director for Clean Water and Sanitation of the Ministry of the Interior, Public Works and Housing, Juan Martín Koutoudjian, and the National Director for Technological Development and Innovation, Martín Guinart, among other officials.

The Israeli delegation, headed by Sabine Segal, the Deputy Director General for International Business Affairs of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, was comprised of distinguished authorities of Israeli companies related to cyber security, new technologies, telecommunications, agri-industry, water resources and local development. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Argentina-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Mario Montoto.

After the formal meeting, the Israeli businesspeople participated in different individual meetings with representatives of Argentine companies in order to facilitate the closing of business transactions between the private sectors of the two countries.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (AAICI) and the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) was signed at the meeting with a view to promoting investment and trade between the two countries.

Among the cooperation measures provided for in the agreement, both parties have undertaken to receive support and provide investors from the other country with support so as to help them achieve the goals of their business missions. The parties have also undertaken to exchange information on their respective economic, regulatory and commercial situation, to cooperate in identifying areas of high potential for investors, to find joint solutions to problems affecting bilateral trade and to provide each other with support so as to organize missions and other trade promotion activities.
